Software Development

Technology Roadmapping

The basic idea behind Crea-Comp is to develop a composite design and analysis software, in which analytical solutions play a key role. Compared with numerical solutions, analytical solutions have the advantages of being fast, accurate, reliable, stable and easygoing. The numerical methods, such as the finite element method, the finite difference method and the boundary element method, are employed, if and only if analytical solutions do not exist. In the new era of mobile communication, we apply a new software development strategy. It is our plan to build Crea-Comp in the following three stages:

Stage I. Mobile Application

At the moment, Crea-Comp is being developed on Android and iSO platforms, enabling composite designers and analysts to do calculations on their smart phones in a straightforward manner, anywhere and anytime.

Stage II. Desktop/Laptop Package

The calculations are expected to become more intensive and more complex in the future. The aforementioned app may reach its performance limit due to insufficient computational capacity in mobile devices, despite that the hardware is improving steadily. To meet the demand of market, we will expand Crea-Comp to a more sophisticated package running on Windows or Macintosh system, where the mobile user interface remains available on larger screens.

Stage III. Cloud Computing

It is intended to perform calculations that require additional assistance as well as to accelerate calculations by using remote computers. We put our R&D team and computers to work for you, including the development and implementation of new algorithms and modules.

Crea-Comp, by engineers and for engineers. We, engineers who love composite materials and structures with heart and soul, have started to design and build a dream software, and in the end deliver it to composite engineers who are committed to making this world a better place. To complete the entire package, there is still a long way to go, we will keep working on this, and we count on your support.

Laminate Analysis

Main Content

Structural Analysis

The name "Lissa" of Crea-Comp stands for Laminate Integrated Stiffness Strength Analysis. A compact lamina database has been built in to keep the essential fundamental material parameters together. Another important feature is a digital laminator, where special attention has been paid to the ergonomic design of the user interface. The stiffness analysis module is based on the classical lamination theory (CLT) that composite engineers are most familiar with and frequently use. The development of the strength analysis module required a comprehensive and thorough understanding of the related fields such as mechanics of composite materials, fracture/damage mechanics and numerical analysis. After years of struggle, the progressive damage analysis is now a mature technique, which can be used for strength predictions of multidirectional laminates under combined in-plane stresses.

  • The most recent version of Crea-Comp Lissa is 4.3, requires Android 7.0 or higher, and is optimized for Android 10.0.
  • Click the icon below to download the apk-file (19.5 MB), and start the installation process.

  • The three basic modules, namely Lamina Database, Laminate Database and Stiffness Analysis, have been made available for use free of charge, for an unlimited time.
  • Sign up for a free trial of 30 days for the licensed module - Strength Analysis. The password needs to be generated on the basis of the unique serial number of your installed app.

  • After a successful beta testing phase, the standard Android version of the app will be available in Google Play Store, enabling composite engineers to download the software at their own convenience.
  • For iPhone users, an effort is currently under way to rewrite the code for the iOS platform, so that the app becomes available in Apple App Store in the future. We are obliged to thank you for your anticipated patience in this matter.
  • If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us at usersupport@crea-mech.com. We wish you an enjoyable and comfortable experience.

Further development of Crea-Comp focuses primarily on composite analyses on a structural level, i.e. sophisticated analyses of laminated plates and shells. As a matter of fact, Crea-Comp Pro can be seen as a logical extension or continuation of Crea-Comp Lissa; in other words, Crea-Comp Lissa forms an integral part of Crea-Comp Pro. The structural modules consist of deflection analysis, vibration analysis, stress analysis, joint analysis, impact resistance, damage tolerance, Monte Carlo and structural optimization. Having a clear objective with reasonable goals in sight, we can go full stream ahead. As is known, software development is a labor-intensive and time-consuming process, but we will never compromise on quality. For the rest, we are constantly in touch with Crea-Comp users to inform them of the latest developments, so that they can upgrade their software via various updates.
